“In Service Through Friendship”. It’s what we do! We spend our days doing for our guests. It’s just a natural progression that we extend that help to our community.
Every year, OCCA makes a monetary contribution to the Les Clefs d’Or Foundation and to our OCCA Scholarship at Orange Coast College that is awarded annually to a student working toward a career in the Hospitality industry.
Each year we also choose an Orange County-based charity or organization to assist. During our annual Trade Show in May and our Gala in December, we collect goods and money donations from our members so that we can “give back”. Over the years, we have given monetary donations to Braken's Kitchen; Caterina’s Club; Surf Dreams; OC Homeless Pets; Pacific Marine Mammal Refuge; and the Mission San Juan Capistrano to name a few.
We have also collected business clothing for Working Wardrobes; slippers, gloves & scarves for Emeritus Assisted Living; food and sundries for the Orange County Rescue Mission; collected over 250 pounds of pasta for The Anaheim White House restaurant that serves 300 meals daily to kids living in motels in Anaheim, built Build-A-Bears for Kids Konnected for children with cancer, and collected shoes for Shoes that Fit.
This year during our Trade Show in 2016, our Concierge and Corporate members went over the top and donated money that was given to Braken's Kitchen. Concierges also gave “A day in service” to Giving Children Hope.
